Bhopal: Alleging gross anomalies in the exams conducted by MPPSC in the State, RTI activists on Thursday demanded CBI inquiry. RTI activist Ajay Dubey along with other activists said that the CBI should look into the irregularities allegedly prevailing in MPPSC, MPOnline and even MP Information Commission.
Over a dozen candidates who appeared at a specific examination centre managed to qualify the MPPSC exam and this shows that the something went wrong, alleged Dubey while addressing a press conference here on Thursday. The activist also pointed fingers at the centre and exam in-charge. Stating that even as MPOnline is headed by the secretary of state information and technology department, it has refused to share any information asked under the RTI act.
He alleged that the government did not follow due procedure in allotting work to MPOnline company as no tenders were called. Now again the company has managed to get the MPOnline work for ten more years, he added. “The state government had found various irregularities against the company in the year 2013 and had ordered an inquiry into it on December 2013, but till date no report has been filed, he alleged.
He also alleged that the company is earning huge amount from the students by charging fees, the company only gives 11 percent share to the government and keeps rest of the money. The company is running its all setup on the government premises and not paying any rent.
Targeting MP Information Commission, Dubey said : “The chief information commissioner is hearing the cases since 2014, but till date he has not imposed any penalty on any establishments for not following the RTI act properly in their offices. He has failed to perform his duties properly,” he said
Dubey raised question over the work division among the other information commissioners. He has asked the to divide the work according to Central Information Commission, in which the commissioners are given the department, while in state the work is divided according to revenue department divisions.
Another activist Paras Saklecha claimed that the state government was trying to suppress the RTI activists by not providing the asked information. “In MP cases on around 1000 RTI activists have been registered, the state government and the information commission should start taking RTI applications online and should enact a law to secure the whistle blowers”.
