Bhopal: Rs 6,900 crore supplementary budget presented

BHOPAL: The government tabled a Rs-6,900 cr third supplementary budget in Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.

Two bills were also moved in the House. The MP Vidhan Mandal Sadasya Nirharta Nivaran (Sanshodhan) Vidheyak seeks to exempt the chairpersons of nine corporations, boards and commissions from the purview of office of profit.

Once the bill become a law, the offices of chairpersons of Seeds and Farm Development Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Nirdhan Varg Kalyan Ayog, Krishak Kalyan Ayog, Bundelkhand Development Authority, Mahakaushal Development Authority, Vyapar Samvardhan Salahkar Mandal, Matyasa Kalyan Board and Kukkut Vikas Nigam will no longer be considered as offices of profit and the occupants of these posts will be eligible to be elected as members of Vidhan Sabha.

The VAT Amendment Bill seeks to bring unregistered traders and businessmen within the ambit of VAT. The bill also seeks to lay down a maximum period of one year for appeal in VAT cases.
