BHOPAL: The state government’s budget for the year 2017-18 will be put up before the cabinet on Tuesday for its approval. The Planning Commission has put a ceiling of Rs 2 lakh crore, including supplementary budgets, on the main budget. The total outlay for the next year’s budget is expected to be Rs 1.70 lakh crore.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday convened a meeting of officials of departments related to budget and revenue and also sought information about the budget.
In the cabinet meeting, a proposal on hike of MBBS seats in Gajra Raje Medical College, Gwalior would also be put up. The proposal related to increase in tenure of chairman of the Commission, investigating into the incident of Bhopal jail break, will be submitted in the cabinet for its sanction.
A proposal related to extending the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between MPonline and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will also be put up in the cabinet.
