Bhopal: Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) will launch its online platform of providing quality education ‘RMSA Academic Monitoring Portal’ by the month-end.
RMSA is a flagship scheme of Government of India, launched in March, 2009, to enhance access to secondary education and improve its quality. The scheme involves multidimensional research, technical consulting, implementation and funding support.
The portal will have among many other things, last 10 years’ question papers of various exams of class IX to XII and answer sheets of meritorious students to facilitate studies of other students. Subject-wise lessons and educative videos will also be made available for the students in the portal, with a facility to answer queries of the students by experts online.
These apart, teachers and principals can also improve their subject knowledge from available resources in the portal, while sharing their experience and suggestions through ‘Teacher Professional Development’ and ‘Professional Learning Community’ section of the portal.
The entire online system will also be equipped with a school-level offline module facility, which will help principals access resources in the portal even without internet. Additional mission director of RMSA, Shilpa Gupta informed Free Press that “The portal is available for students, teachers, principals as well as the government officials.”
She said that “Our focus is to develop professional skills of teachers and provide sufficient study materials online to the students. As we had neither any portal nor forum dedicated to the learning community, where teachers and students can interact and share knowledge, we are providing this platform to facilitate both.”
“The portal will also provide all the text books free of cost to students. Now, even monthly test papers solved by students of various schools will also be made available online with RMASA grading,” she said, adding that “We have been working for three months on the project. We wanted to launch it in the first week of September, but due to some changes, we will roll it out by this month-end.”
