Bhopal: Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhopal held a meeting of Forum of Museum of Bhopal on Tuesday. Prof. S. K. Choudhury, Director, Indira Gandhi Rastriya Manav Sangrahalya (IGRMS), Bhopal chaired the meeting. The agenda of the meeting was the various programmes and activities to be organised on the occasion on the International Museum Day which falls on May 18 at museums of Bhopal like Indira Gandhi Rastriya Manav Sangrahalya, Regional Museum of Natural History, State Museum, Madhavrao Sapre Patrakarita Museum, Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma Swantrata Sangram Museum, Van Vihar National Park, Regional Science Centre etc.
Surya Kumar Pandey from IGRMS informed that it will organise a treasure hunt, exhibition, lecture by Manvi Seth from National Museum, New Delhi. Scientist-In -charge of RMNH, Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that they will organise a Lecture, clay modelling workshop and film show. Similarly Regional Science Centre will organise an exhibition on the theme “My Own Collection”.
Dr. Mangla Anuja from Madhavrao Sapre Patrakarita Museum told that their museum will organise a lecture on “Importance of Museum and its role in Society” and an exhibition on Kalam Baru, Postal stamp, coin and note, rare manuscript, rare documents, letter and magazines etc.
K. Lokhande from the State Museum informed that their museum is planning to organise an exhibition on “Famous Museums of World”. Director, IGRMS, Choudhury suggested that a meeting of Forum of Museums, Bhopal should be held every six months. All the members were agreed with his suggestion.
