Bhopal: Misrod police have booked accountant of RKDF College for fraudulently transferring scholarship money half a dozen students and duping over Rs 4 lakh. A case was registered after principal lodged a complaint against financial bungling.
The fraud was revealed after students approached college regarding non-receiving of scholarship in their bank accounts and in the audit conducted it was found that accountant Prashant Mishra had fraudulently transferred the money in other bank accounts.
SHO Misrod Sanjeev Chouksey said that the accused provided the cheque but changed details like IFSC code and money was transferred to designated bank accounts of his relatives. At present around 7 students have come forward and lodged complaint. Police hope that more students will come in days to come to complaints about the fraud. A case under section 420 and 406 of the IPC has been registered and started further investigation.
