BHOPAL: MP Board of Secondary Education will announce the results of High and Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by it by May 15. Board chairman SR Mohanti told newspersons in an informal conversation that the work of evaluation of answer sheets was continuing simultaneously with the examinations and so far, over 44 per cent evaluation work had been completed. It would conclude by April.
He said no case of mass copying had come to the fore to date and the number of individual copying cases had also come down. In 2016, 1,934 cases of copying were recorded in higher secondary exams and 2,133 in high school exams. This year, the numbers had dropped to 1,095 and 1,154 respectively, he said.
Mohanti said due to determined efforts to control mass copying, the number of candidates from Bhind district had fallen by 25,000. Due to the increase of 4,000 examinees in Gwalior and 8,000 in Morena districts, many examination centres were declared sensitive. As a result, fewer cases of copying were recorded. He said all complaints of paper leak were enquired into. In most cases, the question papers became viral after the exam had begun. After enquiry, it was decided not to cancel any paper.
NCERT books from next session
Mohanti said from the next academic session, only NCERT books would be prescribed in state government schools. He said the Board would procure soft copies of the books from NCERT and get them printed. He said the teachers would be trained and the Board’s office and model schools would be renovated.
