Bhopal: Respecting women brings prosperity says Collector

UMARIA: Collector Vinod Sharma has said that respecting women brings prosperity and wellbeing. The collector was addressing a ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Badhao’ media workshop organised by the women’s empowerment and public relations departments here on Wednesday. He said, “In today’s modern world, there is no difference between girls and boys and parents should not discriminate between them. They should educate the girls and encourage them to take up jobs as per their abilities.” He said it was heartening that sex ratio had gone up in the district. District programme officer, Woman and Child Development Department Gautam Adhikari said the government had launched many schemes for the welfare of the girl child.
