BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the experience of the world shows that wearing a mask reduces the risk of Corona by up to 95 per cent.
"We quickly forget the pains of lockdown. The lockdown has affected people financially and hit business activities. The infection can be controlled by wearing a mask and following all Covid protocols," said Chouhan during the virtual inauguration of a newly constructed RT-PCR lab at Mandsaur on Thursday.
By following all norms, we can continue with the economic activities and generate employment and grow business, said the Chief Minister, adding, "Now is the opportunity to set an example in following Covid appropriate behaviour. Surely "Amazing-Unique Mandsaur" will take initiative in this direction," said Chouhan.
Finance and commercial taxes minister Jagdish Deora and MLA Garoth-Bhanpura Devi Lal Dhakad were also present at the inaugural ceremony at CMís residence. Mandsaur MLA Yashpal Singh Sisodia also marked his presence.
First lab to be set up on PPP mode
Earlier, the Covid samples were sent to Ratlam for testing but now with the setting up of a lab in Mandsaur, the district will no longer have to depend on others for testing. Mandsaur is the first district where RT-PCR lab has been established through Public-Private participation. The lab has been set up at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, of which Rs 35 lakh was contributed by MLA Yashpal Singh Sisodia from MLA fund, while a social worker and industrialist Pradeep Ganediwal donated Rs15 lakh. The lab has come true to the phrase 'where there is a will there is a way'. The district hospital has been equipped with a central oxygen line which is connected to more than 250 beds. The 400 oxygen concentrators, ICU beds along with lab establishment, show the service and cooperative spirit of Mandsaur, said CM.
CM releases films promoting Mandsaur
The CM also appreciated the initiatives and cooperation of other social workers of the district including Nirmila Devi Kaloria during the Corona period. Chouhan released the film "Garlic Mandsaur '', which aims at branding the garlic grown in Mandsaur on the theme "One District-One Product" under Atma-nirbhar Madhya Pradesh.
He also released short films ëMandsaur Geetí and 'Mandsaur Darshan' which will showcase the archaeological and tourist places of the district.
