Congress on Monday got new ammunition to attack government which has been claiming to provide conducive and safe environment for women in the state. The Congress attack came on the day when one of its leaders was booked for allegedly repeatedly raping a 23-year-old. The accused is on the run. The opposition Congress also questioned the mystery surrounding the death of an RTI activist in the state capital.

Addressing a press conference, Congress national media convenor Priyanka Chaturvedi said that Dr Piyuesh Saxena of Vidisha, who is associated with BJP and RSS, has been booked for sexually assaulting a girl since she was 14. Saxena also made obscene video and had pictures of the girl and threatening to leak them has been sexually assaulting the girl for years, said the Congress leader.
Saxena had been threatening the girl, who is now 23 and studying in another state, to return. However, the girl mustered the courage and she along with her family approached police and lodged a complaint against her perpetrator, informed the Congress leader.
The BJP suspended him from the party with immediate effect, He is at large. Chaturvedi also expressed suspicion over ‘accidental’ death of RTI activist Manoj Tripathi. Fortnight back the activist had fallen from fifth floor of his building under mysterious circumstances and he succumbed to his injuries last Sunday. Not buying the version of the police which has termed it as an accident, Congress has demanded a CBI probe into Tripathi’s death.

Congress to hold ‘Badlav Ki Baati’ programme on Wednesday. Congressmen will prepare the ‘Baatis’ and distribute them to voters and also offer them at temples. The party workers will light up the ‘Baatis’ against the injustice, crime against women, corruption, mismanagement and many issues plaguing the state.
