BHOPAL: After Bhopal Railway station, Wi-Fi facilities would be provided at Habibganj Railway station. DRM Alok Kumar made the announcement while addressing a meeting of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) on Thursday.
The new trains for Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Patna from Bhopal were demanded in the meeting. Suggestions were given for inclusion in Union railway budget.
The DRM said that a proposal of Rs 280 crore for land acquisition has been sent to central government for third railway track between Bhopal and Ramganj Mandi.
He also said that machines would be utilised for sanitation at Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Harda.
He said that Wi-Fi facilities would be provided at Bina, Habibganj, Itarsi, Vidisha, Sanchi, Shivpuri, Guna and Ganjbasoda railway stations. Foot over bridges (FOB) has been approved for Kalhar, Kurwai-Kaithora, Sumer, Sukhi Sewania, Diwanganj, Betwa and Pawai Railway station, DRM added. He also said that 24 Point of Sale (POS) machines have been installed at 9 locations of Bhopal division while 156 more POS would be installed at 80 locations in next two months.
DRUCC member Niranjan Wadhwani said that railways should immediately take decision for new trains for Mumbai, Pune and Patna from Bhopal. Vandana Jachak demanded a She-Lounge at Railway stations.
Sanjay Sharma and Vikas Virani demanded proper parking lots at railway stations. Sharma also demanded a high mast lights at Bhopal Railway station. Pankanj Chaturvedi demanded a halt of Indore-Rewa, Ahmedabad-Patna, Bhuj-Shalimar trains at Habibganj railway station. He also demanded new trains for Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune from Bhopal.
Rajesh Dave demanded proper sanitation at Bhopal railway station and proper update of display boards at Railway stations.
