Ratlam: The much awaited Q track near Ratlam will be operational for train traffic from March 28.
With the beginning of train movement on the newly laid track, it would not only provide direct rail link from Indore to Jaipur, Ajmer and many other big cities of Rajasthan, but also shorten distance between Indore and Delhi.
To mark the commencement of passenger train services on the Q track, a special train would be run from Indore to Ajmer extending the services of the present Ajmer-Ratlam express train. This express train will be a regular train from March 29 between Indore-Ajmer.
All India Passenger Amenities Committee member and railway expert Nagesh Namjoshi giving information about the programme of the flagging of the maiden service of the extended Indore-Ajmer express train said that Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu and Lok Sabha Speaker and Indore MP Sumitra Mahajan will flag off the train via video conferencing from the national capital.
The Q track was completed in August 2016 and since then it was awaiting clearance from Railway Board. After getting clearance from chief commissioner railway safety, the Q track became operational for goods trains, but passenger trains clearance was being awaited from the Railway Board.
Sources said that with the commencement of the passenger train services via Q track from Indore, Mandsaur, Neemuch and Rajasthan cities will be connected with Indore by shorter route of Fatehabad-Ratlam as in absence of track facility trains were going via Dewas-Ujjain to Rajasthan cities. Sources said that many trains are in pipelines on the new shorter route and summer special trains like train between Indore-Delhi via Jaipur may be announced in coming period to clear the summer rush.
Time table of the train
Train no. 19653 Indore-Ajmer, which will have 17 coaches including sleeper class and AC-III class, will depart from the city at 4.40am will reach Ratlam at 6.40am and Ajmer at 1.50pm. In return train no. 19654 will depart from a great pilgrimage of Muslim devotees Ajmer at 1.00 pm. It will reach Ratlam at 8.55pm and finally reach Indore at 22.50pm.
Stoppage of the train
The train will have stoppages from both side including-Nasirabad, Bijainagar, Sareri, Bhilwara, Hamirgarh, Gangrar, Chanderiya, Chittaurgarh, Shambhupur, Nimbahera, Jawad Road, Nimach, Malharagarh, Piplia, Mandsour, Dalauda, Dhodhar, Jaora, Namli, Ratlam, Fatehabad, Barnagar and Indore.
