Bhopal: The road in Kolar, which was once built as the approach road for the nearest Kolar dam, is lying dilapidated. The road once used to be single lane but now has become a double lane but the way it has developed, it has diluted the very purpose of the development of this road. Potholes are aplenty and they are not limited to the main road alone but the colonies the road passes through also have a similar plight and the residents are left with no other option except complain.
The Kolar area is one of the well known townships in the city with many famous housing and shopping complexes in the area. The area also witnesses a number of vehicles which pass through it on daily basis. However, in these circumstances the dilapidated road and water filled potholes are making it very difficult for commuters to roam conveniently.
Manjeet Singh Maran, corporator of Ward 84 said the poor quality material used in the construction of this road had led to this situation. “The road is our route to reach Chunabhatti area and all of us have felt the pinch of commuting on it. I have personally written many letters to officials in Vallabh Bhawan but to no avail. Skidding of bikes and minor accidents are commonplace on the road. It was developed by capital project administration (CPA) as the approach road to the dam but the present condition of the road is a cause of concern for people of the area.
The road is even bothering local MLA Rameshwar Sharma who says that he too faces problem while traveling on it. “This is also my route and I also face the problem while passing through the road. We will soon sort out the issues,” he assured.
