SEHORE: Usha Ramesh Saxena, chairperson of District Co-operative Central Bank (DCCB), at a press conference on Sunday, presented details of performance of the bank in financial year 2016-17. She said that almost 50 per cent of wheat procured by agriculture co-operative committees was yet to be transported. She said that instead of promised 72 hours, wheat was being transported between 7 and 15 days after procurement. The wheat lying in the open is exposed to harsh sun and is drying up. The committees will suffer loss due to this. She said that State Civil Services Corporation, which is mandated with task of transporting wheat, was not doing its work with alacrity. She said that due to carelessness of the Corporation, the committees had suffered a loss of Rs 7 to 8 crore last year.
She announced that ATM facility would soon be provided in five branches of the bank. This will facilitate withdrawals by customers any time. The bank is committed to providing facilities equivalent to leading private and public sector banks to its customers. The bank is going to provide the facility of funds transfer through RTGS in all its branches. The bank is also sanctioning different kinds of loans.
