Bhopal: Silence prevailed in the meeting of defeated candidates of assembly elections held on Thursday when a candidate from Malwa region said that he was defeated because of ‘your supporters’.The meeting began on dissenting note, with most of the defeated candidates complaining about sabotage as the main reason of their defeat.
A candidate said, “Where shall I go to complain as your supporters were instrumental in my defeat,’ said a candidate from Malwa region, addressing the stage where Congress state president Kamal Nath was also sitting along with other senior office bearers.
As other candidates started speaking on the same note, Kamal Nath intervened and said that those who have such complaints should give it in writing to him. Nath assured acting against the culprits. Nath told them to give him in writing about the officers who worked against them in assembly elections.
He said all workers should forget past grievances and should prepare together for Lok Sabha elections. “Our first priority as present is to win Lok Sabha election,’ assured Kamal Nath to party workers. Boosting the spirits of candidates Nath said that for him they were the MLAs of the lost constituencies and that they should continue to work like an MLA in their constituencies. Nath asked them to give suggestions on what changes they want at organisational level. A little more than 100 candidates were present in the meeting along with senior office bearers including CP Shekhar and former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh.
