Bhopal: The MP Urja Vikas Nigam have organised a day workshop along with the Petroleum Conservation Research Association to inform the industries about power conservation, here on Thursday. The Bureau of Energy Efficacy, New Delhi have suggested to organise the workshop to educated he industrialists about the power conservation, use of energy and also to obtain the Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) certificate. In the workshop the officials gave the information about the PAT Cycle-I and PAT Cycle-II to different groups.
The MD of new and renewable energy Manu Shrivastava said the target is to achieve 1.06 MTOE (Million Ton of Oil Equivalent). The target of 6.686 MTOE for 2012-2015 have been achieved. He added it prevented emission of 31 million tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. He added after the successful implementation of I and II the Union Ministry had decided to impose the PAT Cycle-III and it was came in effect from March 30, 2017, which will remain effective till 2018-19 and the target is to save the 1.06 MTOE.
He advised industries to install the solar energy units. Doing so will not only help them save not only power but imported oil. He said MP-based Oriental Paper Mills has bagged second place in national power conservation award, and Grasim Industries in Chlor-Alkali Sector had earned a merit certificate.
