Bhopal: Politics over Vande Matram intensifies, Shah targets Rahul

Bhopal: Politics between ruling Congress and BJP has intensified over recitation of Vande Matra. The Congress government, which stopped reciting of the National Song on the first day of every month at Mantralaya has led to a series of allegations and counter allegations. Targeting Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Shah in a statement wanted to know whether it was his decision to insult National Song.

According to Shah, Rahul should clarify on this matter before the public about the unfortunate decision of the Congress government. Shah said the decision to stop Vande Matram was taken to appease a particular community. Shah said the decision was painful, shameful and insult to the nation’s freedom fighters.

Shah said stopping recitation of Vande Matram was equal to ‘treason’. Earlier, the BJP workers on Wednesday reached Mantralaya Park and recited National Song. They termed the state government’s decision ‘treacherous’. Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced to recite Vande Matram on Mantralaya premises with BJP MLAs on Jan 6 in Assembly.

Chouhan further said Congressmen should tell whether they know the lyrics of National Song or they feel shame in singing it. Chouhan said he would recite Vande Matram on the first day of every month with people.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath too reviewed the matter of Vande Matram at Mantralaya. Nath discussed with officers about the new form of National Song. The BJP has made preparations to raise this issue in the assembly session.
