BHOPAL: The chief electoral officer has forwarded the proposal submitted by the political parties to conduct re-polling at various polling stations in Ater constituency, to Election Commission of India, though the election observer report states no irregularity in the bypolls.
Joint chief election commissioner SS Bansal informed that the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party had submitted memorandums to conduct re-polling at various polling stations in Ater constituency. The polling had been conducted in Ater and Bandhavgarh constituencies, on Sunday. The political parties have their own claims to conduct re-polling. He also added the report submitted by election observer claimed that no irregularity had been reported in the elections. The ECI will decide on the memorandums.
Earlier on Sunday, the Congress alleged that huge irregularities had been committed in the bypolls and in around 40 polling stations, re-polling should be conducted. Similarly the BJP has also raised issue against the polling and have submitted the list of 41 polling stations in which re-polling should be conducted.
