Bhopal: Police should work in professional manner

Bhopal: VK Singh took the charge of the DGP in the morning and after that he took the formal meeting with the officials posted at PHQ. While talking to media here on Wednesday, after taking over the charge, he said, “My first priority is that the police should work with full professional expertise in the state.”

He informed that remotely some of the crime like gambling and betting seems to small crime, but these crimes are the mother of crimes. He added that the police are ready to conduct Lok Sabha elections, the elections will be conducted free, fair and fearless atmosphere.

On the police commissioner system, he said “The delivery system is important, whatever the method may be.” He also added that the issue of weekly off will be sorted out shortly and the promises made in government’s Vachan Patra related to the police will be fulfilled. On Tuesday the state government had removed the DGP Rishi Kumar Shukla and appointed VK Singh.

‘Uniform & discipline basis of police service’

The DGP seems to be unhappy with the way of wearing the uniform by the police personnel and shared his thought with the media. He said police personnel should learn first how to wear uniform and emphasised on the issue of discipline among the force personnel and uniform. He added that in comparison to other department- police service is based on uniform and discipline.

‘Modern policing is need of the hour’

Singh said police officials are trained to handle the untoward situation and “If the officials implements the training experience in their daily life, the law and order situation will be better”. He added that the police have to upgrade themselves following the modernisation of the crime.

The criminals are using ultra modern techniques to harm the society and the police have also come forward to control the crime. “It’s too hard to control cyber crime, but the police teams are capable to clutch the criminals after long chase”, he added. He added modern policing is the need of hour and the standard operating procedures (SOP) have to be followed by the SPs and also by the police station in-charges.

On crime against women

Talking about the crime against women he added “The rape cases which are visible and the reality are different.” He claimed that “We will ensure that women, girls and other deprived section of the society feel safe in the MP.”

Illegal money, arms & drugs menace

DGP said, “The collection of illegal money, presence of illegal arms generates the series of crime in the society. My priority will be to control over such crimes.”He added that sale of illegal drugs and other drugs sold at the chemist shop will be stopped and the drug pedalling will be suppressed firmly. He added that the use of drug among the youngsters will not just destroy their future, but also causes loss to the nation. “We are going to put reins on such business and the students coming to study will be protected from the evil of drug.”
