BHOPAL: The staffers of Punjab National Bank (PNB) donated blood to mark the 123rd Foundation Day of the bank here on Wednesday. A camp was organised by the blood bank of Red Cross Hospital at the zonal office of the bank for the purpose.
Addressing the Foundation Day function, nank’s zonal manager LK Malhotra said PNB was the country’s first Swadeshi bank. It was established on April 12 at Lahore by freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai and others with an authorised capital of Rs 2 lakh and a working capital of Rs 20,000. In the last fiscal, the turnover of the bank was Rs 10.40 lakh crore. On this occasion, Prerna Trust organised different programmes at the Farmers’ Training Centre at Vidisha as part of the CSR of the bank. A customers’ meet was also organised.
