HOSHANGABAD: Umakant Umrao, commissioner of Narmadapuram division has said that river Narmada is worshipped by the people and as such they should do everything possible to preserve and protect it and to make it free from pollution. He urged the people to plant as many trees as possible on the banks of the river and also to look after them. He said if this was not done, the river would be reduced to a nullah.
The commissioner was addressing the “Jal Van Narmada Tat Kshetra Sammelan” at the local Home Science College here on Tuesday. On this occasion, CEO district Panchayat P.C. Sharma and Principal Kamini Jain were present on the occasion.
