BHOPAL: Union minister of state (independent charge) for energy, new and renewable energy Piyush Goyal said that achieving the lowest tariff of Rs 2.97 for the world’s biggest 750 MW solar project to be set up in Gurh tehsil of Rewa district is historic. He congratulated commerce, industry, employment and mineral resources minister Rajendra Shukla over phone in this connection. Goyal said that this is a matter of pride for the state and for the country. Terming this a big achievement for the state, he said that the tariff achieved through tender is quite low than the achieved minimum tariff.

Goyal said that this was the first project to have achieved such a minimum tariff. He expressed the hope that the project apart from being certified as development process model, other national institutes will also follow the development process of the project.
