BHOPAL: The petrol pumps across the state capital are refusing to take demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes from the costumers and insisting them to take fuel for full amount.
According to instructions from RBI, the petrol pumps have been instructed to take the demonetised note up to November 24. Few of the pumps have hanged notices stating that they will not provide change for Rs 500 or Rs 1000 note, because they have no change.
The manager of Arera Auto Centre, Namdev Baraskar informed that they are accepting demonetised currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations, but they are facing the change crisis. He added that if the pump employees have the change, they are filling the fuel and giving the change back.
Contrarily, the service providers at pump are not following what the manager said as they are compelling the costumers to take the fuel for full amount if they pay higher denomination currencies of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000.
If someone needs to fuel for Rs 200, he has to pay two notes of Rs 100, but if he gives Rs 500 note the service provider are refusing to fill the fuel.
