Bhopal: A discussion on ‘Solution and Preservation of Tribal Medicinal Plants’ was held on Friday- the fourth day of the five day ‘Tribal Healer’s Workshop at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS). 80 tribal healers from all over the country took part in the discussion. In the discussions with healers (vaidya), some interesting information was shared by all the healers regarding the use of herbs in various diseases of different areas.
After the discussion, the healers started treatment for the public. Madan Shyam, who came from Amarkantak, claimed that he can treat chronic bone related ailments. Huge crowds were witnessed on the stalls of healers from Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Maharashtra. People, in long queues, waited patiently for their turn as this opportunity has come after 2012 when such a large number of tribal healers have assembled at IGRMS, Bhopal. The workshop is being organised by the museum.
