Bhopal: People gathered for ‘Run Bhopal Run’ Half Marathon

Chilly winter morning with fog also couldn’t suppress the enthusiasm of Bhopalites when it came to run for their city. Sunday morning experienced a sight to rejoice when more than 15,000 people gathered for ‘Run Bhopal Run’ Half Marathon. The enthusiasm of the people participating in the marathon was encouraging that not even Mayor Alok Sharma and Gas disaster relief minister Vishwas Sarang could stop themselves from running with the participants along with Collector Nishant Warwade. Not just them but various eminent socialites of Bhopal like Aruneshwar Singh Deo, Dr Neelam Tripathi and various fitness groups also joined the running brigade in the cold winter morning. The limitless zest was seen throughout the 21km, 11km and 5 km race with youngsters, elders, children, foreigners and even the specially-abled. The theme of this years marathon was ‘Swachh Bhopal’. Youngsters without missing any chance to click selfies enjoyed the race singing, dancing and hooting with friends. Making the event a success, Bhopalites once again proved that when it comes to their city, they are ready to leave their cozy beds even on a cold winter morning and run for their city.
