BHOPAL: A western disturbance led to a rise in the temperature all over the state on Monday.
Just three back, the state was in the grip of severe cold wave but now the minimum as well as the maximum temperatures are ruling well above normal.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 27°C on Monday, which was 2°C above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 14.1°C, which was 4°C above normal. On January 13, the temperature was as low as 4°C, which rose to 7.4°C on January 14 and 11.6 °C on January 15. Thus, in just three day, there was jump of 10°C.
Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 25.7 °C which was normal while minimum temperature upped by three notches to settle at 13 degrees Celsius.
Some parts of the state including Damoh and Mandla districts are still in grip of a cold wave.
Mandla recorded 3.4 °C while Damoh recorded 6.4°C and Nogaon recorded 7.4°C. Gwalior and Shivpuri recorded 7.7 °C and 7.0°C respectively.
As per the meteorological department, the onset of a western disturbance took the minimum temperature much over normal. Condition is likely to prevail for the next couple of days.
