Bhopal: Patwari caught accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 by Lokayukta

Patwari Raja Ram Chauhan was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 by the Lokayukta on Monday. He had sought the bribe for preparing land record book with mutation after division of parental property in Kurbai village under Gunga police station.

Lokayuka inspector Sadhna Singh said, “Savitri, wife of MPTDC’ employee Prem Narain Mina had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta against Patwari (Halka n0-5) claiming that he had demanded Rs50,000 for maintaining land record book(Bahi) after division of 2.5 acres in Kurbai village under Gunga police station.”She further claimed Raja Ram had already accepted two installments of Rs5,000 each. He was to be paid another Rs10,000 on Monday, when Lokyukta stepped in.
