BHOPAL: Home minister Bhupendra Singh Thakur, on Thursday, said parents of martyred soldiers, who were domiciles of MP, would be entitled to a monthly pension of Rs 5,000, provided their monthly earning was less than Rs 10,000 and they were not being looked after by the wife of the martyr.
Making a statement in Vidhan Sabha he said the government had finalised the norms of the pension scheme, which was announced by CM Shivraj Chouhan at Lal Parade Ground on October 14, 2016 on the occasion of the inauguration of Shaurya Smarak. He said the pension amount would be paid into the joint accounts of the parents of the martyred soldiers. In case one of them dies, the other will continue to receive the pension.
