Bhopal: NEET counselling held at administrative academy on Thursday witnessed a massive chaos, as parents of the students protested the counselling schedule declared by directorate of medical education (DME). Though the second round of counselling was to be completed on Thursday, the Supreme Court has extended it by three more days and ordered to conclude the admission process of MBBS and BDS by September 10.
The DME had instructed the students to attend the left out round, known as Mop Up round and said that the list of eligible students will be uploaded on the department website on Friday at 5 pm. The counselling process will be conducted on September 9 and 10 at college level. Students have to reach the concerned private medical college for MBBS course on the same day to take admission.
Similarly, list of eligible students seeking admission in BDS will be uploaded on September 9 at 11 am on the MP online and department website. The counselling of left out round will be conducted at college level on September 9 and 10. However, the schedule made the parents furious, with some of the parents complaining they will have very short time or have only few hours to reach the allocated college to take the admission.
They raised the issue in front of the DME officials, who further informed the parents that they are working according to the instructions given by the Supreme Court. But, the parents did not agree with the DME officials and started creating ruckus over the issue. The chaos later turned so big that the officials had to leave the academy. Now, Mop Up round will be rescheduled on Friday.
