BHOPAL: Despite the chief minister’s announcement, the committee formed to issue a White Paper on malnutrition in the state is yet to hold its meeting. This was revealed in a written answer to a question by MLA Govind Singh.
In her reply, minister for woman and child welfare Archana Chitnis said in the wake of the CM’s announcement, the committee was to decide the points to be included in the White Paper. But it could not meet for want of basic information.
She said supplementary nutritious food was being distributed in the aanganwadis of the state in keeping with the guidelines of Supreme Court. A couple of months back, CM Shivraj Singh announced that the work of supplying supplementary nutritious food to the aanganwadis would be handed over to SHGs.
Ex-chief minister Babulal Gaur wanted to know what became of the minister’s announcement that she would take him along on her tour to Sheopur – the district with the highest percentage of malnourished children – in the state. In reply, the minister said she had toured the district.
