BHOPAL: The ISI module active in the state could have assumed horrifying proportions if it had not been busted by the Anti-terror Squad (ATS). The mastermind of the racket, Balram Singh was given responsibility to recruit unemployed Hindu IT professionals, who were rendered jobless after demonetisation.

The ATS arrested the mastermind Balram Singh, an alleged Bajrang Dal activist, from Satna on Thursday. He was arrested for making payments to accused persons for converting the calls from Pakistan into Indian phone numbers.

Balram was trained by one Azhar Mohammad in Dubai, after returning from Dubai he started working as an ISI agent in Madhya Pradesh. Azhar had given Balram the responsibility to recruit the IT professionals, living in bordering areas of MP and UP. Preferably, the UP resident IT professionals were high on their demand. He was instructed to recruit only Hindus, so that their activities cannot be suspected on religion basis. Their main task was to collect the information based on army movement, their preparations and others. Balram had started to work and established the core team, which the ATS is trying to trace.

Last year, many youths were arrested by the ATS from various places of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh Uttar Pradesh. They belonged to particular community and were having connection with Azhar. he instructed Balram to recruit only Hindu for their espionage purpose, Balram was keeping eye on those IT experts who worked in metros and were fired from their jobs due to demonetisation.

As the jobless IT professionals were coming back to their homes they were soft target for Balram. The entire planning was scheduled to start after the UP election, but he was arrested by the ATS before it could have started. If he was not arrested the result may have been worse in coming future.
