HOHANGABAD: Toilets would be constructed for pet dogs and municipality chairman Akhilesh Khandelwal has given the indications that the work will started from December 31.
He said that the commissioner colony and circuit house of the city have been selected for construction of toilet, where the pet dogs are more in number.
CMO Pawan Kumar Singh said that the work for the selection of land has begun and they are preparing the design of the toilet. Akhilesh Khandelwal said that separate staff would be appointed for the sanitation of the toilet and nominal fees would be charged from dog’s patron so that the staff salary would not be a burden for the municipality. Akhilesh Khandelwal said that almost 1500 people are having pet dogs. The names of the dog owners and the real figures would be taken from Animal Husbandry department.
Their names would be registered in municipality and ID number would be given to them. Action will also be taken for removing stray dogs for which helps from NGOs will be taken.
Municipality has also written a letter to police department for the construction of dog’s toilet for police dog. If the dog does the open defecation on the way then it would be the responsibility of the dog patron to remove the waste and if he does not, then fine would be imposed on the owners.
