BHOPAL: The Indigo Airlines, on Monday, refused to allow Udyan Das, accused of committing gory triple murders, to board its flight from Raipur due to some technical issues. A team of WB police wanted to take Udayan to Kolkata by the flight. Later, they took an afternoon flight.
Meanwhile, Hoshangabad police is yet to begin a probe into how a forged death certificate of Indrani Das, the mother of Udayan, was obtained from Itarsi Municipal Committee.
The certificate was issued on February 8, 2013. A nurse Helen Das had claimed that Indrani Das had died at her home on February 5, 2013.
At that time, Helen Das was posted at Shyama Prasad Mukherji Hospital. At present she is posted in the district hospital Hoshangabad. One Manish Thakur had collected the certificate on February 8, 2013.
The CMO of Itarsi Nagar Palika Suresh Dubey informed media persons that death certificate can only be issued on the application of the family members. The facts are not verified by any agency. However, sources said that there is a well-established procedure for obtaining death certificate. In urban area, a certificate given by the local corporator or proof of information being given to police, are necessary.
Similarly if the incident occurs in any rural area, the certificate of village panchayat secretary or patwari or proof of information being given to the police is needed.
SP Hoshangabad, AP Singh informed that till date no agency, including Bhopal police, Raipur police or the CEO of Itarsi Municipal Committee has filed a plaint in the matter. If a complaint is made, the Hoshangabad police will file a case and investigate the matter.
