BHOPAL: DGP Vivek Johri has strictly prohibited involvement of outsiders in police cooperative societies. The DGP has issued a letter in this regard on Friday.
Sources informed that people who are not in the police force are getting involved in these bodies and taking huge loans from it. After taking the loans, they are not repaying it causing huge financial problems to the societies.
It is also came to light that some of the police personnel are ëstickingí to their posts in the societies for long time and working in their own way.
The DGP instructed that the head of the cooperative society who is normally the commandant or the unit head, should not keep more than Rs 3 lakh cash in hand. For daily financial operations, this amount is allowed.
It is asked that the head of the society shall physically verify the amount time to time.
The limit of giving loan in cash to police personnel is up to Rs 20,000. If the amount is more than that, the amount should be deposited in the bank account.
The instructions for appointment of police personnel in the societies like, in welfare activities, bank, petrol pumps, super market, CPC canteen, gas agency, police hospital and other cooperative institutions has also given by the DGP.
Now the personnel can be appointed only once for a period of two years in these societies, the letter said.
