BHOPAL: No liquor shops will be permitted near the river Narmada’s banks, said, chief minister while addressing the Samwad programme during the ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ campaign in Dindori on Friday.
He also instructed that from now eucalyptus plants will not be planted and the forest department will handle plantations on forest land and the revenue department on revenue land.
In the private land the farmers will be paid Rs 20,000 per hectares for three years if they plant trees on land.
Sewerage treatment plant will be established on the banks of the river to prevent polluted water from mixing with the river. He also instructed not to throw pooja items like flowers ash into the river. He asked not to submerge the dead bodies into the river and have instructed to construct the crematorium area near the ghats.
He also added that pooja and havan kunds and changing rooms for women will be constructed near the river bank.
