BHOPAL: Sanjiv Sharma, a senior official from Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi visited Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology on Friday at explained about the NIT Act to the staff members. It is said that Sharma explained about jurisdiction and other intricacies in NIT Act so that clashes among staff members and minimised and day to day working becomes smooth.
Clauses related to issues with students and scholarships too were explained at length to avoid any controversy in the campus between staff members and students. Sources said that the recent controversies at MANIT had forced the ministry to send a representative to the university campus to explain all the staff members about their powers, jurisdiction and responsibilities.
Sharma held separate sessions with senior staff, faculty members and administrative staff. Director MANIT has been on run for past couple of weeks after a case has been lodged against him under SC/ST atrocities Act. The institute has been working under an incharge director.
Besides, there are several other issues including reservation, promotion and other administrative issues related with construction etc that have been under controversies. Several complaints have been lodged in cases related to promotion and reservation.
