Bhopal: NGO Samarthan released a citizen report’ entitled ‘Four Years of NDA government: Promises and Reality’, on Wednesday. The report reviews the electoral and other promises and performance of the NDA government.
Dr Yogesh Kumar, executive director, Samarthan, said it according to the report the government still lags behind in implementing the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas’. It also lags behind on the issues of health, education and rural development.
Only 9.4% schools fulfill norms of RTE in the country. A very small portion of gross domestic product (GDP) was being spent children’s health. Kumar said the report highlights that MP lags behind on development indexes.
He said that there was a need to assess and report the ground realities related to the implementation of various schemes of the government in the form of a citizen report before the assembly elections. Similar exercise is required at the district level along with the interaction with public representatives.
The volunteers of the NGOs including ‘Sarthak’ from Teekamgarh, Jansevi Sansthan from Bhind, Darshana Mahila Kalyan Samiti from Chhatarpur, Adivasi Chetna Shikshan Samiti from Jhabua were present in the programme.
