Bhopal: Security in the Naxal-affected regions of the state has been intensified in the view of a bandh call given by Naxals on Saturday. Maoists have called bandh in six states including Madhya Pradesh on Saturday to protest the Chhattisgarh police action against them in Gadchiroli.
IG intelligence Makrand Deuoskar informed that according to their intelligence inputs, naxals have called bandh on May 26. Three districts – Balaghat, Mandla and Singroli – adjoining neighbouring Chhattisgarh are sensitive. The superintendents of police of the three districts have been instructed to remain vigilant and take special measures to prevent any untoward incident.
Police officials of districts like Chhindawara, Dindori and others have also been instructed to remain alert. The information system has been strengthened to keep eye on any action planned by the naxals. Earlier the extremists have tried to knock the state door many times to execute their misdeeds, but proper information system and timely action of the state police force had foiled their plan.
