In a joint operation the Balaghat police have claimed to gun down a naxal Sagan alias Jamuna who was wanted for the killing of ex-transport minister Likiram Kanwre, on Tuesday late evening. The IG Balaghat KP Venkteshwar informed that the MP police Hawk force and Chhattisgarh police were conducting ahe joint operation at the state borders since Monday. While conducting area domination they met the cross firing from the naxals on Tuesday. In return the forces also opened fire in which the wanted naxal Sagan was gunned down.
The naxal was wanted by the MP, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra police and by the CBI. MP had announced the reward of Rs 5 lakh, the Chhattisgarh had announced the reward of Rs 8 lakh, Maharashtra police had announced the reward of Rs 6 lakh and the CBI had also announced the reward of Rs 50,000. The naxal was active in the Lanji and Baihar area and she was wanted in the 46 cases including murder, loot arson and others. One carbine, cartridges, daily used items among others was seized from their hideout.
