BHOPAL: National Pulse polio drive was kicked off on Sunday and it will continue till April 9. collector Sudam Khade administered a dose of pulse polio in JP Hospital Bhopal. Children up to age of 5 years will be administered the dose of pulse polio. collector Sudam Khade took the stock of facilities in Hospital. The first phase of the Pulse Polio drive will be run in the State till April 9. During the campaign this year, 1.13 crore children will be administered polio drops (do boond zindagi) for which 45,431 booths have been set up in the State.
Over 90,861 teams including 9,086 supervisors, mobile teams for high risk and far-flung areas and transit booths have been pressed into job for pulse polio at Haat-Bazaar, Airport, Railway Station, Bus Stand and government hospitals. To make the campaign a success, best performance will be ensured in all the districts to ensure minimum 80 per cent pulse polio booth coverage.
ASHA workers will visit houses and prepare a list of infants in the 0-5 age group and will bring them to the polio booth set up in the nearby anganwadi. Chief medical and health officers have been directed to create a situation of zero error and zero tolerance this year for the success of the campaign. The responsibilities of all sections should be fixed. Before the campaign, the redressal of all possible grievances should be ensured under the chairmanship of the District Collector.a
