Chief Minister Kamal Nath reached national capital on Wednesday after Congress debacle in the recently held Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, Nath’s schedule for Delhi visit after announcement of Lok Sabha elections was set twice but was cancelled.
It is not sure that Nath would meet Congress national president Rahul Gandhi during his Delhi visit. His programme to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers is also uncertain. Though, there are several issues in the state where Centre’s assistance is needed.
Media coordinator to Nath, Narendra Saluja said there is no information about meetings of Nath during his Delhi visit. He said Chief Minister would be back on June 7.
Nath did not attend Congress’ central working committee meeting after defeat in Lok Sabha elections. Sources in Congress say that Nath did not go to Delhi after general elections result as Rahul was not meeting any senior leader. It was also reported that Rahul had expressed his annoyance over role of Congress leaders including Nath in the elections. In the recent past, I-T department had raided the establishments of confidants of Nath. People close to Nath said his meetings with Congress leaders can be known only on Thursday.
