The I-T raids on confidants of Chief Minister Kamal Nath, followed by filing of first information report (FIR) in e-tendering scam has created a political storm in the state. Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has also instantly started investigating into e-tendering scam. The preparations are on to tighten noose around ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with a dozen ministers by opening old files. Nath on Thursday held a discussion with chief secretary (CS) and director general of police (DGP) in connection with I-T raids and action taken on scams that took place during previous government.
Nath has clearly instructed them to get files of irregularities that took place during BJP government and hand them over to EOW for investigations. BJP leaders would be targeted through inquiry. The government would be handing over all documents to EOW and other police agencies. It was also decided in the meeting that information about irregularities that took place in districts should also be collected after Lok Sabha polls.
Nath is also going to give clear message to ministers and MLAs that all issues related to BJP leaders should be put up before him. Congress had raised the issue of scams that took place in BJP government during assembly polls. Nath had clarified after elections that he would target anyone. It was said that ex-CM Digvijaya Singh was not happy with Nath’s intentions.
Bhupesh Baghel in Chattisgarh after assembly polls had tightened noose around ex-CM Raman Singh and his confidants. Now, Nath also want action against BJP leaders in the state on the same lines. Nath, after I-T raids, has clearly hinted his close officers that he would not spare any BJP leader now.
