Bhopal: Taking on Congress government over the spate in crime in the state, BJP vice president Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Chief Minister Kamal Nath was trying to hide its failure by diverting public’s attention.  “The state government should admit that it was busy in transfers and postings and it has paid no attention towards public safety… There is an atmosphere of administrative anarchy across the state,” said former chief minister while interacting with media in Satna.

Earlier, Chouhan led a silent procession against the kidnapping and murder of twins Shreyans and Priyansh in Satna. The procession started from Civil Lines Square and reached the Collectorate where the citizens paid tributes to the twins. The ex-CM said those guilty of shoddy investigation should also be punished because the twins were in captivity of kidnappers for 12 days and could have been saved.

The children were kidnapped in broad day light but the government and police system failed to trace them, said Chouhan adding that the twins were kept in Chitrakoot but the police could not get any clue and the intelligence of the government totally failed. Police claims proved hollow as the children were taken out of the state’s border, said the BJP leader. The Satna case should be tried in a fast-track court and the prosecution should ensure the death sentence for the culprits, Chouhan said.

Security of school and college students should be enhanced across the state, he said. Chouhan also urged the Chief Minister to establish a system inside Police administration, which would work for safety of students so that they could study in a fearless atmosphere. Parents should also remain free from fear and worries.
