BHOPAL: Senior BJP leader and former CM Uma Bharti has reiterated her stand that she will not contest Lok Sabha election from Bhopal.  Her name was being discussed as a probable candidate from Bhopal in political circles for last few days.  Uma Bharti was in Jhansi-Lalitpur Lok Sabha constituency where she categorically denied fighting election against Congress’ Digvijaya Singh from Bhopal. Later she also tweeted from her official handle and clarified that she would not be contesting election.

Later her office issued a press release that reiterated that she would not contest. She gave several examples of how Congress stalwarts were defeated by smalltime BJP leaders.  Interestingly enough, she concluded the letter saying that she has done her work by ousting Digvijaya Singh in 2003. “My role is over,” she said.  Then she added that Shivraj Singh has remained CM of MP for 13 years and is a very tall leader- He will easily defeat Digvijaya Singh, she added.
