Bhopal: Musical evening in Tagore’s memory

Bhopal: To mark 156th birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore, Bengali Association organised a musical evening at Kali Badi, TT Nagar on Saturday with pomp and show. On the occasion, Rabindra sangeet, Bangla poems and plays, written by Tagore was staged. Some popular songs of the legendary poet including ‘anand loke mangal loke…,’ ‘aakash bahura surya tara…,’ and others were presented. After that a poet recitation was held in which famous Karna-Kunti dialogue of the great poet recited here. Based on Rabindra Sangeet, some dance performances were also showcased under the direction of Adrija Goswami. Scripted by Tagore, directed by Abhijit Goswami, a comedy ‘Khyatikar Vidambna’ was staged at the end of programme.
