BHOPAL: Police have arrested a murder convict, who while being on parole, had enacted his fictitious suicide by killing another person at his house in Neelbad. Police have also arrested his accomplice, who helped him in the crime.

Police had recovered a charred body from his house, who was initially believed to be that of Rajesh Parmar, a murder convict who was on parole.

However, later during investigation it was established that deceased was not Rajesh but Raju Raikwar, 34, a resident of Govindpura. His family member had lodged missing report.

Murder convict Rajesh Parmar, 32, a resident of Ratibad, to escape remaining jail term had hatched a plan to show himself as dead. He included his friend Nihal Khan, 20, who basically hails from Bihar, in the plan.

Nihal is currently pursuing diploma from Millennium College and resides in Piplani. However, it was his missing SIM that helped police to trace Rajesh who had escaped to Chennai.

To ensure that there was no one to hamper their plan, Rajesh had sent his grandmother to his native place Ashtha for a religious function. The duo had spotted a drunkard and brought him to house.

He was later sent on fire and to portray to others that the deceased was Rajesh, a hand written suicide note was also left at the spot. Initially police took the deceased as Rajesh.

During investigation, students living in same vicinity told the police that Nihal had gone to Gujarat with his friend Vishal Singh. Vishal was summoned and during questioning he gave police the details of Nihal’s mobile.

Police knew that SIM which Nihal used earlier, was missing. When interrogated, Nihal told the police that he had given the SIM to other person.

Police then put his mobile number under surveillance, He was told not to leave city without informing police. Soon police traced down the missing SIM’s location in Bengaluru.

A police team which went to the metro could not trace out the location of SIM as the mobile was switched off. Tracing the location, the cops reached Chennai where SIM holder tried to dodge them by changing his get up—south Indian style Lungi and others.

But ultimately, police managed to trace him at a parking lot on the basis of SIM. He tried to show the police that he was well off and influential person of South India. But on the basis of Aadhaar Card and Voter Identity Car, police jumped on conclusion that man is none other than Rajesh Parmar.
