Bhopal: Supreme Court’s decision on implementation of reservation roster in universities may affect the MPPSC selected professors who have not been given appointment till date. The apex court has rejected the advertisement issued by the central university for appointments overlooking the reservation roster. Education activist and petitioner in another case against MP Higher Education Department, DP Singh said that rejection of the advertisement by the SC will definitely hit the appointments in the state.
“The advertisement issued by the higher education department in MP was a joint one including vacancies in colleges and universities. The apex court has rejected the advertisement related to university. MP government is now in a fix as it issued joint advertisement,” said Singh.
Officials of the higher education department said that they can comment only after studying the SC judgment. However, Singh insisted that HRD ministry has sent a letter to all universities and MP government too will have to act on it.
The appointment process has been stalled after HC granted stay for not following reservation roster for handicap quota. The shortlisted candidates have now formed an organisation to press for their demand of issuing appointment letters. They had also met several education authorities besides meeting the higher education minister of the new government.
