BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Monday filed a criminal defamation case against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan in Bhopal court for a statement of the CM linking the Congress with the terrorism.
State PCC spokesperson KK Mishra said that after the incident police killing eight operatives of the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) outfit in an encounter after the jailbreak the CM addressed a public meeting in Shahdol on November 16, 2016 while campaigning for Lok Sabha by-polls.
In the said meeting the CM said that “Congress Ka Haath Aatankatwad Ke Saath”. Mishra said not only this but the state BJP president Nandkumar Chouhan uploaded the CM’s statement on his facebook account.”
Congress State president Arun Yadav found it humiliating and authorised the spokesperson to file the criminal defamation case against the CM and the BJP state president in the court. The case has been filed in the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Bhu Bhaskar Yadav under section 500. The court has fixed the hearing in the case on March 1.
