Bhopal: The MP Hockey Women team defeated RCF Kapurthala team in an exciting match and secured their position in finals of the All India Gurunanak Dev Gold Cup Women Hockey Tournament being played at Amritsar.
It is noteworthy that despite the presence of many international players in the RCF Kapurthala team, the Bhopal team gave tough competition to the RCF and won the match by 3-2. In the semi-final match played on Saturday, Lalarsimi and Gagandeep Kaur of RCF converted their penalty corners into a goal each and gave the team a lead of 2-0.
The 30th minute of the match saw player Jyoti Pal scoring the first goal for the team in her field play. After this goal, the team gained its confidence back and two other players Kanchan Nidhi and Sadhna Sengar scored two more goals and the Bhopal team won the match by 3-2. The final will be played on Sunday.
