BHOPAL: MP Women Hockey Team bagged the runner-up position in the All India Invitational Prize Money Women Hockey Tournament being played at Gorakhpur. The team also won a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and brought laurels to the state. In the final match played on Sunday, the Maharashtra-11 team gained a lead of 1-0 when Lilly M scored a goal in the very first minute of the match.
Kumari Aman player of the MP State Academy scored a goal in the 27th minute of the match and equalized the score. In the 45th minute of the match, Pinky T of Maharshtra-11 converted a penalty attempt into a goal and the Maharshtra-11 team won the match by 2-1. Gorakhpur MLA Fateh Bahadur Sinfh and UP Sports Director RP Singh gave away the trophy and medals to the winner and runner up team.
